GMT Data maintains a database of directors and auditors on companies listed on the Hong Kong Exchange. Past research has shown that director and auditor departures can be leading indicator of share price underperformance. Our proprietary classification system categorises each resignation according to a multi-factor risk framework that considers:

• The tier of the departing auditor relative to the incoming firm
• The stated reason for auditor and director resignations, with links to underlying filings
• The frequency of auditor resignations on a rolling five-year basis
• The frequency of director resignations, particularly independent directors, on a rolling 12-month basis
• The timing of resignations
